When the filter cake layer is formed, the filter cake layer has a screening effect, the filter material loses the screening function, and only plays the role of supporting the filter cake layer, so it is called filter cake layer filtration.

(2) Adsorption filtration (deep filtration) : the mesh number of the filtration medium is greater than the diameter of the solid particles, and the solid particles are adsorbed on the surface of the medium after entering the pore.

In actual production, filtration and adsorption function at the same time, the adsorption filter medium can trap larger particles, and the filter cake layer of the filter medium can adsorb smaller particles.

In general, the suspension to be filtered is called filter mud; The porous medium used is called the filter medium; The liquid that passes through the medium channel is called the filter fluid; The intercepted solids are called filter cakes or filter residues.

The driving force of the filter cloth operation is the pressure difference between the upstream and downstream of the filter material. The pressure difference is generally generated by the following methods:
